Nonprofit Technology Conferences for 2020 (and one for 2019) you need to attend
Conferences are a great way to immerse yourself in new ideas, hear top notch speakers, and network. There are many events that focus on nonprofit technology and below we put together a list of some great conferences that are upcoming for 2020, and one that is just a couple weeks away (good news–tickets are still available!).
Nonprofit Innovation & Optimization (NIO) Summit
September 24-25, 2019 – Denver, CO
Presented by NextAfter, the NIO Summit focuses on online fundraising strategies that promotes marketing innovation to help you achieve better results with your fundraising efforts. Speakers include Ross Simmonds, Founder at Hustle & Grind, Tim Kachuriak, Chief Innovation & Optimization Officer at NextAfter, and Amy Harrison from Write With Influence. Some discussion topics are email marketing, copywriting, analytics, social media marketing, marketing automation, and testing and optimization.
Nonprofit Technology Conference (20NTC)
March 24-26, 2020 – Baltimore, MD
With a huge focus on using technology to spark change, “the 2020 Nonprofit Technology Conference is designed to help you reinvigorate your work and bring that renewed passion back to your community.” The keynote speaker is Erricka Bridgeford Director of Training, Community Mediation Maryland Co-Founder, Baltimore Ceasefire 365 who has some insights you won’t want to miss. Hosted by NTEN, some topics covered are technology management, operations, and digital communications and marketing.

March 29-31, 2020 – Baltimore, MD
This conference’s focus is to educate professional fundraisers by providing information on fundraising best practices and innovations, and that definitely includes the latest in nonprofit technologies. The speaker list has yet to be announced, but you can expect thousands of attendees, 100 breakout sessions, and a large marketplace.
Social Innovation Summit
June 2-3, 2020 – Washington, DC
Anyone from a venture capitalist to a nonprofit leaders is encouraged to attend this engaging conference that focuses on social change and innovation. Last year’s speakers include Mark Cuban and Olympian Laurie Hernandez, so we can only wait with anticipation for 2020’s speakers to be announced. A focus on networking, knowledge, partnerships, and funding will be on the table.
Collaborative
June 9-11, 2020 – Boston, MA
The Collaborative conference is presented by Classy and will share ideas about tools, strategies, and connections to help you grow your organization. Last year’s speakers list included over 100 innovators from authors to CEO’s to nonprofit founders, and we can’t wait to see who will be speaking for 2020. Topics include the latest technology and data trends, and best practices in marketing and fundraising.
Bridge Conference
July 15-17, 2020 – Washington, DC area
This event is put on by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Washington, DC Metro Area Chapter (AFP DC) and the Direct Marketing Association of Washington (DMAW), but has become a hub for all things direct marketing and fundraising for those in the nonprofit world and beyond across the nation. There is a focus on direct response, individual giving, corporate giving, and special events.
